Literature Text

In tender tremors blossomed forth
A tree of gray and silver bark
With triple leaves in velvet trimmed
And flowers, gilded, fragile and bright

The first of many trees to come,
The first to spread in barren soil
Its roots, the ropes of life's' excess
Together twisted by the winged ones' toil

A tree of life, it seemed, and was
In caverns far below the ground
Away from deathly dusk and storms
Which plains beyond the peaks allowed

Beneath the leaves, which moisture dripped,
Above the fire, in the plant's dense shade,
The timeless one began and took his few first steps
Before becoming sentient, and speeding off, away.

Fabrice, the silent watcher of the Forests' Kin,
That soundless, sleepless, ageless woodland wraith
About him gathered cloak of life's new threads
And claimed all fallen, rising from the Falls beneath

They did not meet that day, the Old Man and the Forge's Two,
For Fall filled one with zest, and others still
Fought their battle 'gainst the elements' embrace,
Brought over the whole realm by Iwin's emnity

The ever-blooming tree had other gifts to give,
Through stone it shattered, and through the ages' weave
Its leaves, which brought with them the scent and sparks of life
Its bark, which all eight senses did restore

But greatest treasure of them all were ever-scarce fruit
Palm-sized and succulent, and almost all consumed
By those sprouted from pits of prior years' harvest
Beasts fair, strange, the guardians for pillar of the world

They lingered under leaves, the watchers of the one first sprout
The massive hydra, blind monster of the deep
The many-armed red serpent, tongueless teller of new tales
Undying butterflies, the deafened gems of boughs

And nameless quilled one, weaver of the fates
Without their knowledge in the symbiosis tied
Unknown by the Winged ones, grew
Their own realm creating under primal plains
Daonic theme; a few words on the Tree of life and its guardians.

A note: following Iwin, Fabrice (who's an old anti-social recluse) and Haben (for the most part sitting under the Tree and smoking whatever it is that many-armed serpents smoke in their free time) turn out to be the oldest in the pantheon.

This leaves a question of when/how Faithful and Feathered Kins actually appeared in Daon.

A note #2: I should really kick myself in the bum and finish chapter 5, though 've a feeling that that's not happening until after the wedding. Silly real life.

I once was in poetry but not anymore, but I can tell you this sounds soooooo beautiful..

But it sound beautiful and as far as I can understand it; moving, moving and epic.
