Dead birdie: copper.
--- Frankly, I am not happy with the way this turned out. The chasing of the actual bird is allright; it is based on a house sparrow chick. The teeth of the actual comb, however.. If I were to do it again, 'd elongate the entire thing and leave the teeth of it straight. I -am-, however, quite happy with the edge-thickening on the top. Too bad it's not very visible in this shot. ---- Merely a side-project, though it has found a permanent home in the bathroom. |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. The poor dead birdie looks very realistic and I kinda like the twisted teeth actually, it makes the piece look very interesting and unique. Definitely caught my eye while browsing the main DA gallery

Basically, you take a flat sheet of metal, you take a set of chisels, and hammer with a tiny-tiny hammer until something looks right.
Sorry for the long reply, I'm in the middle of nowhere right now.
